A Shearings self drive holiday to Whitby is a great way to spend your free time as it has many attractions and some stunning beaches available. The town has a long ghostly history and the winding alleys and streets around the old town have guided tours available that explains the ‘hauntings’. These ghost walks are a change from the Dracula Experience that explains the story behind the vampire of Bram Stoker’s book.

The old lighthouse can be climbed too, which gives you fascinating views of the bay and beaches, and is popular with many tourists.
