RBS are now offering 2 year tracker mortgage that lets you make the most of the current low Bank of England interest rates. The rbs.co.uk/tracker2 promotional mortgage from RBS is currently 2.59% (28/05/2010) and tracks the BoE Base Rate + 2.09%

After the initial  rate expires on the 31st August 2010 the rate thereafter is 4% making the overall cost for comparison to other mortgages 4.0% APR. The rbs.co.uk/tracker2 mortgage costs £999 and is only available to new RBS customers with a minimum deposit of 40%. RBS allows you to switch to a fixed rate after three months, should the base rate take an unexpected jump.

The rbs.co.uk/tracker2 mortgage allows overpayments of 10% per year without you having to pay RBS and erly repayment charges, but if you do have to pay the mortgage off early, there’s a 3% charge until 31/08/2012. The dates and figures have been taken from the rbs.co.uk/tracker2 website, but you’ll need to check the up to date figures before deciding to get a mortgage from RBS.
