The Nationwide Monthly Savings account offers rates of up to 3.00% AER and tracks the Bank of England base rate (until Jan 1st 2010) , which is currently at an all time low of 0.5%. The interest rate you receive increases with increases in your balance, and unlike fixed term deposits, your money isn’t tied up. You can make withdrawals at any time using your cashcard or via the internet.

Interest rates depend on how much you save each month

  • £1 to £99 ~ 0.35% AER
  • £100 to £199 ~ 1.85% AER
  • £200 to £499 ~ 2.35% AER
  • £500 to £1000 ~ 0.35% AER
  • interest rates from nationwide.co.uk/monthlysavings

You can save up to £1000 a month but if in any month your balance reduces, or you invest less than £100, you’ll still get a competitive rate of interest for that month
