Apply today for the Halifax Cash ISA Saver and you’ll get a tax free fixed rate of 3.10% AER for 12 months. Not bad in today’s low interest rate deals on offer, and it has the benefits of being an ISA, so no tax on your 3.1% interest will go the tax man.

You can open an account with any amount between £500 and £3600 which is your full cash ISA allowance for the 2008 / 2009 financial year. You can;t make any withdrawals or additional deposits so only invest what you don’t need for the next 12 months.

If you have already invested in ISAs you can transfer your cash ISA to Halifax and get the 3.1% AER interest. Check what yo’re getting now, and it may well make it worth while to move over. Check the terms and conditions of your existing ISA as you may be penalised if you close your account early.
