British Gas are now offering fixed energy prices for gas and electricity until 2011. Following on from their price increases of 25%, they are offing the fixed deal to protect you against any more increases until 30/09/2011

The British Gas offer is the longest fixed price deal available in the market for now, but others will be appearing once the other suppliers have followed suit and upped their prices like British Gas. They aren’t going to offer a fixed deal at 25% below the market value!

Your best bet is to use an energy comparison service like The Energy Helpline to compare all the current deals so you can really see whaich one would be best for you. With oil prices dropping over the last week, you might want to go for a variable rate deal and see if prices will drop, or go for a fixed deal where you know how much you’ll be spending.
