Types of cover

Roadside – get help from the AA when you have broken down more than ¼ mile from your home. If the AA can’t fix your car by the roadside, they’ll take you “to the nearest garage or an alternative local destination, provided this is no further” – check details of what they consider the ‘nearest garage’ to be as I wouldn’t want my car dropped at tricky trev’s car yard because it’s close by.

Relay – If the AA can’t fix your car at the roadside, they’ll take you, your car and up to seven passengers back home, or to anywhere in the mainland UK.

Home Start – If your car breaks down down at your home or within ¼ mile of it, the AA will take you and your car to the nearest garage or local destination as long as its no further away. Again, check what ‘nearest garage’ means

Stay Mobile – If you brake down and they can’t get things sorted out locally, Stay Mobile from the AA you can choose from a “replacement car for up to 72 hours, public transport costs or overnight accommodation” I’m 100% sure there will some terms and conditions for the types of accommodation and public transport you can use, but if not, enjoy a stay at the Savoy.
